Breaded Tofu Sticks recipe

Ingredients:

1 lb of regular firm tofu.
½ cup of seasoned Italian breadcrumbs.
2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast (optional).
½ teaspoon of garlic powder.
½ teaspoon of onion powder.
¼ teaspoon of paprika.
2 medium egg whites, lightly beaten.

Preparation Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cut the block of tofu into 24 pieces (slice into two layers, then slicing through both, cut each into 12 pieces).

In a shallow bowl, combine the seasoned Italian breadcrumbs, nutritional yeast (optional), garlic powder, onion powder and paprika.

Dip the sticks into the egg whites, then into the crumb mixture. Place on a non-stick or lightly oiled cookie sheet.

Bake for 20 minutes, turning after 10 minutes. The longer the sticks are cooked the chewier they will be.
