Grilled Tofu with Mushroom Sauce recipe
Ingredients:
¼ cup of soy sauce.
½ cup of orange juice.
Salt and pepper, to taste.
1 lb of firm tofu, sliced into 1-inch thick pieces.
½ teaspoon of olive oil.
¾ cup of skim milk.
1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour.
¼ cup of vegetable broth.
1 cup of shiitake mushrooms, sliced.
1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard.
3 green onions, finely chopped.
Preparation Instructions:
Combine the soy sauce, orange juice, salt and pepper to form a marinade. Marinate the tofu for 8 hours or overnight.
Place on hot grill and cook for about 5 minutes on each side.
In a separate saucepan, whisk together the olive oil, milk, flour and vegetable broth.
Add the sliced shiitake mushrooms and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, about 8-9 minutes or until the mushrooms are tender.
Pour the mixture over the grilled tofu.
Serve immediately.
